Home Assistant integration

Add it to your Home Assistant

A HACS package that plugs into your existing setup — no new hardware.

What it is

If you run Home Assistant, this is the fastest way in. The integration reads your existing climate, water heater, EV charger and battery entities. We build tomorrow's plan every night; your own Home Assistant instance carries it out.

Your entities, your automations, your dashboards. We don't ask you to replace any of it — we read the climate, water heater, EV charger and battery entities you already have and hand back a schedule.

  • Works with your existing Home Assistant instance — no new hardware
  • Free tier: the full optimizer for one device
  • Premium removes the device limit and adds multi-device optimization

The specifics

Install via HACS as a custom repository, restart, and add the integration through the normal Home Assistant config flow. It adds a sidebar panel for setup, constraints and diagnostics, plus thermostat and savings cards you can drop into your own dashboards.

Your instance pushes a sensor reading every 5 minutes and pulls back an optimized schedule once a day; the schedule is applied on half-hour boundaries. If the integration can't reach us, your entities keep running on the last schedule they received — the panel's diagnostics view tells you when that's happening instead of staying quiet about it.

The API it talks to is the same one documented at docs.hungrymachines.io — read the request and response shapes directly if you'd rather verify than trust the panel.

Free vs. Premium

The free tier runs the full optimizer on one HVAC device — no trial window, no feature cut on that device. Premium removes the device limit, so every HVAC unit, the EV charger, the water heater and the battery all get scheduled together, and adds solar-forecast integration.
